In His Life

John Lennon is my favorite musician, artist, and activist. Today would have been his 70th birthday. A few of the photos I scanned for this post were from a book (John Lennon: The New York Years) I recieved from my Mom on my 16th birthday on October 11, 2005. Part of the dedication reads:
"...Enjoy this book, I know you love him. Love, Mom"
(No truer words have ever been written, I even had a Mod London Sweet 16 Party that year with enormous blowups of The Beatles and a lifesize cardboard cutout English phone booth.)

(images all scans by me from: John Lennon: the New York Years, Beatles 365 Days, Life: Remembering John Lennon 25 years later, John Lennon Scrapbook. Photography: Bob Gruen, Henry Benson)

this made me cry...for us ...for him...for our sorry world....His art is eternal and nobody can touch that. He changed everybody and we were so ready for him....I will never forget the feeling of those tumultuous years....I was there with him every step of the way....

I'm so glad I'm not the only one who cries about John!
Everytime I read a book about him or see a special on TV I'm in tears by the end.
I love all the pics of him and yoko in newyork

I always cry too, whenever I see any documentries about John Lennon. I wasn't even alive when he died, but whenever I see footage of it makes me cry.

Thanks for this post.
the world needs more people like John Lennon, who fought with music the injustice and for peace.
War is over if you want it.
Give peace a chance.
Imagine all the people, living life in peace!

PS: I think the man on the 2nd pic from the end is MDC, luckily in the jail!
