The little black dress has found a spot in every woman's closet along with other fashion essentials like: white T-shirts, trench coats, and jeans. Chanel was the original creator of the wardrobe staple. In 1926, her black "Ford" dress became just as popular the Ford Automoblie. In 1954, Christian Dior (one of Chanel's competitors at the time) said: "You can wear black at any hour of day or night, at any age and for any occasion. A little black dress is the most essential thing in any woman's wardrobe. I could write a book about black." Donning a little black dress always makes you look effortless and chic. It is fashion incarnate and resists every trend. It never goes out of style and it is always sexy and right.

Geez Louise, so many LBD's! That picture of Linda E. and Shalom H. was a fave back in the 90's. I found this look so chic and clean. Oddly I don't have a LBD though I used to have several. Hmm. Must remedy this problem.

Guh, what a stunning collection of pictures! Thank you so much for sharing xo
A simple black dress is the ultimate for day-to-night!
These pictures are so fab, they really show that just because it's one colour doesn't mean it can't be individually styled, cut or accessorised!
Absolutely stunning photos.
nice post!
I've awarded you Tell me about yourself award, visit my blog to see :)
I love this post! Great proof that an LBD will always be in style :) When I'm shopping I always gravitate towards those babies because they're so effortless and chic!

you ate at my husband's restaurant in 1967, perhaps 10 or 20 times. The name of the place was called "The Inbetween" in greenwich village, N.Y., When Frank and the band were playing down the street on Bleeker. You were pregnant at the time. My husband is selling his Warhol Cork Relief that Warhol gave to him within that time frame. Do you remember the banana smoking event that occured at "The Inbetween" ? My husband's name is Martin Sadacca and his e-mail is : mcarroll1@nyc.rr.com.
enjoyed "The LBD"...
Warm regards, Anna Ingrassia-Sadacca
